There is an amazing show opening this weekend at CAM Raleigh. It features many wonderful artists from all over the world who use drawing, or some manner of mark making in their practice. The show is curated by two east coast jewels, Bill Thelen who owns Lump Gallery/Projects, and Jason Polan from NYC whose work can be seen all over the place in print and in public.
Somehow yours truly made the cut, and I am honored to be a part of this awesome show. I am totally stoked because this is technically my first museum exhibition.
Now if you are like, drawings, that could be anything. Is this going to be a boring show of figure or still life? The answer is FUCK NO!! This show has all sorts of great art in it. Non objective, process based, humorous, crude, enlightening, gorgeous, ugly, conceptual, giant, tiny, there are so many approaches represented in this exhibition.
Do yourself a favor and if you are a member, come to the Preview tonight, Thurs June 4. If you are not a member then come out tomorrow night June 5. It will be First Friday in Raleigh and there will be some fantastic art to look at.
The show is up June 5 – September 7, 2015, so see it several times!!!
