before the daily show, colbert, anchorman, etc.,  there was Not Necessarily the News. i still have hazy memories of this show from the 80’s. it was an experience. it was when hbo was first born in the early 1980’s, in fact at the top of the show when the old hbo logo and sound came up i got goosebumps. i would sit at the desk in my dad’s office and watch this crazy show with him. being a child meant i didnt get a lot of the material, but i knew it was funny, i could tell between the sound of my dad, and of course the live studio audience. there was also a visual absurdity to the show that even a i could pick up on. there are quirks and things to this day im sure i learned from watching this.  anyway watch this episode and see for yourself.
